Serving Abroad

In partnership with the Lutheran Church of Slovakia and Mission to Southeast Europe (MSOE), Holy Cross sends mission teams to Europe to assist with outreach to some of the world's 11 million Roma people (a.k.a. gypsies). Gypsies are an unreached people group; over the last few years they have shown more interest in the Gospel and Jesus' message of forgiveness for all people from every nation. We support the Olejar Family (Pastor Jergus & Lubica, daughters: Lumi & Nina) serving in Slovakia. Click below for a little update about what the Olejar family ministry has done throughout the past year.

February 24 brought renewed and urgent commitment to the mission partnership between the Slovakian ministry of the Jergus Olejar family and Holy Cross. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia on this day triggered Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II. Pastor Olejar and his family have been inundated with opportunities for Christ-centered witness and Christ-inspired human care for a blessed few of the more than 7.7 million Ukranians fleeing the country. God has taken our prayers and generous financial support to the frontlines of this international crisis.

Be sure to welcome Lumi (Ludmilla) Olejar as she comes for a visit to Fort Wayne. She will be joining us in worship on July 16 at 5 p.m. and July 17 @ 9 a.m. Lumi will be sharing the great things God is doing through our mission partnership.
