Learn More about “Pastor Dan”
A Note from Pastor A
Pastor-elect Daniel R. Harrington's arrival is just around the corner! In addition to the usual pastoral duties he will be overseeing operations, strategic planning, admin, finances and human resources at Holy Cross. I thank God every time I have sat down with "Pastor Dan." He will be a great colleague! He recently responded to a few questions designed to help us know him better (see the entire June Partners). Please join us for his ordination & installation on June 5th!
As you look ahead, what excites you about your ministry at Holy Cross?
The mission of CTSFW is to form servants of Jesus Christ who “teach the faithful, reach the lost, and care for all.” As I move into the role of pastor at Holy Cross, I look forward to being such a servant. I am excited about the opportunity to teach the faithful of Holy Cross, through sermons that declare the accomplishments of Christ for us, and in Bible studies that can dig deeper and unpack God’s Word, with an eye to applying the truths in our lives as believers. I am also excited to learn from and engage with the community outreach arm of Holy Cross, to increase the opportunities that we have to reach those who are lost and in need of a Savior. And the specific pastoral role that I’ve been called to offers a broad range of opportunities to care for all... whether it be the faithful members of Holy Cross, the children and families who depend on our school, or the compassionate staff members who serve them both! I look forward to seeing how God will use us together to build His kingdom!
What do you hope will be the impact of your pastoral ministry at Holy Cross?
There is a lot that I could say about the specific impact that I hope to have at Holy Cross, but I think that it all boils down to a few simple goals. I hope to faithfully preach and teach God’s Word and rightly administer His Sacraments, that faith in Christ will grow and God’s church will be built up. I hope that my specific strengths will complement those of the ministry team at Holy Cross, and that by combining our individual gifts and abilities, the faith family here will have a greater understanding of God’s Word, a stronger faith in Christ Jesus as their Savior, and a deeper walk in their Christian lives. And I hope that on that day, when I stand before My Lord and finally see Him face to face, He will be able to say “well done, my good and faithful servant!”
