Pr. King’s Farewell
One of the joys of my pastoral ministry has been watching the growth of Pastor Lewis A. King as the father of two Holy Cross Lutheran School students, entrepreneur of a barber shop that brought people closer to Jesus through prayer and physical support, founder and director of King's Community Outreach, seminary student answering God's Call to become a pastor, mission director of Northeast Indiana Neighborhood Engagement, participating pastor in Fort Wayne's 10-Point Coalition, advisory member of Prayer Works Fort Wayne (located in the former GE building now known as Electric Works), Urban Outreach Pastor at Holy Cross, and many, many other wonderful mission adventures for God's Kingdom.
And now . . . Pastor King will expand his ministry beyond the LCMS to launch King's Global Outreach where he will "serve Fort Wayne and beyond to share the love of Christ Jesus." You can read more about Pastor King and his future plans in the September issue of the Fort Wayne Lutheran (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eqCiwxLjYzvuaglCl2q5954tIFq-4t-0/view).
Pastor King will preach his "farewell sermon" at Holy Cross this coming weekend, September 28-29. We will be blessed not only to hear him preach the Word, but also to support and encourage his ministry through a freewill offering and celebratory reception following each of our Saturday and Sunday services.
God bless the King family -- Lewis, Joy, Zyon, and Addison -- both now and wherever God leads them in the days to come.
