Advent Missions
During Advent, we offer three different mission projects from Acts 1:8 commission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The three projects are: Holy Cross Christmas Families, NINE ministry of Pr. Lewis A. King, and Liberian Children’s Ministry. Give online or pick up an envelope in the Welcome Center to make a Christ-like difference for the world.
Holy Cross Christmas Families are church members, school families or staff that are currently in financial stress due to health issues, illness, or job loss. Holy Cross gifts them with $200 worth of gift cards that they are able to use for food or items needed to make their Christmas a merry one. One family said, “Grateful is a weak word to describe how thankful we are of the gift from Holy Cross. It made the difference of having nothing to having a Christmas for our family.” May you bless the 28 families that will receive the Advent Mission Outreach envelope this Christmas.
One of our three different mission projects is for those in our city, Pastor Lewis A. King's NINE ministry. The mission of Northeast Indiana Neighborhood Engagement (NINE) is to impact neighborhoods with community development, grassroots leadership, and the engagement of churches through Christ’s love. King's Community Outreach is partnering with NINE for a Christmas giveaway on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church to feed 500 families! If you would like to help, contact Pr. King at 260-433-4269 or laking@holycrossfw.org.
Holy Cross is supporting Joe Boway's Liberian Children's Ministry through our Advent Mission Outreach project to reach those with the Gospel around the world. This ministry is supporting over 5,500 students in 14 Lutheran schools! Over 75% of the new students are from a non-church background. Just $25 will educate one child for one year! HC is also collecting (old & new) catechisms to send over to Liberia.
