Unity of Churches

"Joining Jesus on His Mission" calls for engaging in outreach to those in our neighborhoods and having unity among Christians & other Lutherans to accomplish this goal. Northeast Indiana Neighborhood Engagement (NINE) was created for that purpose to impact neighborhoods with community development, grassroots leadership, and the engagement of churches through Christ’s love.

This past month I was so excited to have the opportunity to meet with several Lutheran pastors as we discussed how our churches can support and collaborate with one another in reaching people for Christ throughout the city of Fort Wayne. It also brought to light that there are gaps missing in our mission fields. I meet every three months with these pastors to check on progress.

Holy Cross 8th grade students joined NINE in showing Christ's love by filling 150 Christmas stockings with candy and gifts for each Lutheran South Unity School student. NINE supplies boxes of food monthly to the LSUS families. I have had the privilege to go into the school and teach the students about culture curriculum throughout the year.

The unity of several churches, NINE and other businesses & organizations came together to support King's Community Outreach's Annual Christmas Giveaway on December 17 for an amazing gift of food, bikes and toys to the community. Over 500 baskets of fresh vegetables, turkeys and canned goods was served to about 2000 people.

Learn more about NINE at ninefortwayne.org or join us for our upcoming fundraiser on Saturday, March 4 to help make a Christ-like difference in our city!

THANK YOU for walking along beside me as I minister and reach the city with sharing the love of Jesus. Your encouragement, prayers and financial support have made it possible for me to continue "Joining Jesus on His Mission."
