Advent News
Dear Partner of the Gospel,
The shepherds hastened to Bethlehem to hear and see the Good News of newborn Jesus. They then returned to their vocation (calling) of caring for sheep. They returned aschanged men. They return "glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen" (Luke 2:20).
The actions of the shepherds provide a great example for our lives as Christians. We hear
and see Jesus Christ in our weekly worship. Then we return to our various vocations -- our callings as family, employee, neighbor, and so forth -- with lives that glorify and praise God.
Come and hear the Good News of Jesus in our different Advent opportunities for you this season including HC's services on Wednesdays @ 6:30 pm (Dec. 4, 11, 18) with our students participating in each service.
Vicar Chad Van Meter will be leading a 3-week reflective and interactive learning series called "Heartbroken + Hopeful" on the real meaning of Hope, Peace and Joy in the Greenhaus on Thursdays @ 6:30 pm (Dec. 5, 12, 19).
Our Advent Mission Outreach Gifts will be going to four different mission projectsfollowing the Acts 1:8 commission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ locally(Jerusalem), regionally (Judea and Samaria), and internationally (ends of the earth).
